Nree Foundation feels glad to inform that, Mr. Mohammad Firoz Al Mamun, Upazila Executive Officer, Sherpur Sadar on 21 December, 2020 visited the ‘Anaharir Ahar’ program. During this time, he participated as the chief guest in the winter clothing distribution program organized by the Nree Foundation and donated 50 blankets and 30 packets of food to the poor and needy to encourage the activities of the foundation. On behalf of the Nree Foundation all of us expressed our special gratitude to him for his time.

On the occasion of the 101st birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, an initiative was taken by the Nree Foundation.

National Children’s Day 2021 has been celebrated with due dignity, as well.

Honorable Mayor of Sherpur Municipality, Mr. Mohammad Golam Kibria Liton and the Honorable Convener, Mr. Abul Kalam of Jono Udyog Sherpur cut the cake. Distributed foods among the underprivileged children. Members also served food among themselves and amongst the honorable guests. Members of the Board of Directors of the Nree Foundation were present at the time.

An experimental project called ‘Anaharir Ahar’ was started on a small scale according to the capacity of Nree Foundation (with the entrepreneurs ’own funding).

Anaharir Ahar, a free food distribution program, which is the first attempt of the Nree Foundation to start its journey in the Municipal Park of Sherpur city in August, 2020. In the beginning, activities were carried out by ensuring supply of eggs, pulses and rice to 25 helpless and extremely poor people every day at noon. Separate dishes and glasses are provided for each of the 25 people. Soaked in soapy water immediately after its usage to keep it sterilized. Safe water and soap are provided for hand washing purposes as well. Masks, glasses, face shields, gloves, gowns are given to those who are engaged in the great responsibility of food distribution. At the cost of 1050-1100 BDT per day, at that time only the entrepreneurs were running the program with their own funds. At the same time, sometimes there was an arrangement of improved food for a special day. In the wake of increasing demand, the number of beneficiaries was increased from 25 to 30 on 16 September 2020, after a lapse of 1 month, and the daily expenditure stood at BDT 1,350.

On April 17, 2021, the Nree Foundation helped the helpless son of the late Abdul Malek of Lachhmanpur area, Md. Shaownuzzaman by paying the registration fee for his SSC examination. The Nree Foundation has pledged to keep Shawon’s educational support ongoing. He was given a cheque of BDT 2400 for further support and purposes, etc.

As part of this, on August 2, the first step was to confirm the first vaccination of 54 helpless elderly people.They were very happy with the vaccines and have called on others to take the vaccine.
